It’s been three years since we launched our Pre-school to Prison documentary project. When we started this journey, we were told that we needed a proof of concept, and some even said we would likely not get funding without it. This was discouraging and at times left us perturbed, but we never gave up. Each of you contributed to our success. Your support, words of encouragement, and belief in us from the onset kept this project alive!
We are ecstatic to share with you that we have a trailer and a documentary short that has been submitted to film festivals. We have been accepted into three film festivals so far and we anticipate we will be accepted into a dozen more over the duration of this calendar year.

Our FIRST premiere date will be at the Micheaux Film Festival in Los Angeles on July 15th. This will be the FIRST time that the documentary will be premiered on the big screen in an actual movie theater (additional information below). WOW! Our screening block title is: Injustice Anywhere is a Threat to Justice Everywhere, Vol 2.
For our east coast supporters, we are confident that our film will also be accepted to the NYC film festivals that are happening during the fall months, so you will have an opportunity to attend closer to home. However, if you are interested in attending the screening in Los Angeles or our screening in Tulsa, please let us know. We will update you as our additional acceptances come in.
Special shoutout and much love to our cast and crew: Edwin Walker, Andrew Crabtree, Tiffany Vulcain, Thorin Daye, Taso Pardalis, Joe Nohavicka, Pia Johnson, Baruti Kafele, Richard E. Pelzer II, Josh Cole, Sean Havas, Ty Stone, and Brian “BRich” Richards.
Premiere Dates and Location:
Micheaux Film Festival: Saturday, July 15, 2023 @ 12pm PST at the Regal Cinema Downtown Los Angeles. Panel discussion after the film TBD.
Greenwood Film Festival: August 2nd, 3rd, and 6th in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Time and theater TBD. Panel discussion after the film with Dr. K, Edwin Walker, and other guests.

Each of us must continue to support projects and policies dedicated to eradicating the pre-school to prison pipeline.
